• Receipt Images: Photos of receipts you capture or upload

• Expense Data: Transaction details extracted from receipts (merchant name, date, items, prices)

• Contact Information: Names and contact details you add for expense splitting (stored locally only)

2.2 Automatically Collected Information

• Camera Access: Required to scan receipts (only when you initiate the scan)

• Photo Library Access: Required to select existing receipt images (only when you choose this option)

• Device Storage: Used to store receipt data locally on your device

 

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

• Process receipt images using Mistral AI's Pixtral vision API to extract expense data

• Store and organize your receipts and expenses locally on your device

• Calculate expense splits among multiple people

• Generate PDF summaries of expenses

• Provide expense tracking and analytics

 

4. Data Storage and Security

4.1 Local Storage

• All receipt data and expense information is stored locally on your device using Hive database

• Your data is NOT synced to any cloud server or external database

• Contact information is stored only on your device

4.2 Third-Party Services

• Mistral AI: Receipt images are sent to Mistral AI's Pixtral API for text extraction and data processing. Images are processed in real-time and are not stored by Mistral AI. Please refer to Mistral AI's Privacy Policy for details.

4.3 Data Security

• Receipt images are transmitted securely over HTTPS to Mistral AI

• Local data is protected by your device's security features (passcode, biometrics)

• We do not have access to your locally stored data

 

5. Permissions Required

TabTracks requires the following permissions:

• Camera: To capture receipt photos

• Photo Library: To select existing receipt images

• Contacts (Optional): To easily add people when splitting expenses

• Internet Access: To process receipt images via Mistral AI API

 

6. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. Your data is shared only as follows:

• Mistral AI: Receipt images are sent to Mistral AI for processing (as described above)

• User-Initiated Sharing: When you choose to send expense summaries via messaging or email

• Legal Requirements: If required by law or to protect our rights

 

7. Data Retention and Deletion

• All data is stored locally on your device until you delete it

• You can delete individual receipts or all data at any time through the app

• Uninstalling the app will permanently delete all local data

• Receipt images sent to Mistral AI for processing are not stored by their service

 

8. Children's Privacy

TabTracks is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us immediately.

 

9. Your Rights and Choices

You have the following rights regarding your data:

• Access: View all your data stored in the app

• Deletion: Delete individual receipts or all data at any time

• Opt-Out: Disable camera or photo library access in device settings (this will limit app functionality)

• Data Portability: Export expense summaries as PDF documents

 

10. Changes to Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

12. International Users
